On 16 August 2021, the officials of the National Insurance Authority along with their assiduous staff held numerous meetings in Berbera where they met the government officials in Berbera, Sahil region. The main purpose of the meetings was to work together to improve the insurance coverage.
The general objective of the meetings was to;
- To enhance the understanding of insurance and regulation in Somaliland.
- Strengthen the Third-Party Motor Vehicle Insurance decree by the National Insurance Authority.
- To discuss the role of the participants in the development of insurance sector in Somaliland.
- To promote the development of insurance industry in Somaliland.
National Insurance Authority Management Team and Staff meeting with the Management Team of DP World. The agenda of the meeting was to;
- Welcome, practical information on the insurance sector in Somaliland.
- Property and handling equipment risks and insurance coverage.
- Insurance coverage for the DP World employers.
The National Insurance Authority Management Team and Staff meeting with the General Manager of Somaliland Ports Authority (SPA), Mr. Said Hassan Abdullahi. The agenda of the meeting was to;
- Third party liability insurance.
- Insurance coverage for the SPA employers.
The National Insurance Authority Management Team meeting with the Deputy Manager of Berbera Oil Terminal, Mr. Carfaan Xaamud Cabdoo.
The National Insurance Authority Management Team meeting with the Chairman of Sahil region. The agenda of the meeting was to;
- Develop the role of insurance sector in Somaliland particularly Berbera region.
